The Legend of the Blue Rook
Long ago, deep in the forests of Southern Brazil, there lived a crow.
Like most crows, it had jet black plumage and piercing eyes that gave it an ominous and intimidating appearance.
“a noble bird in search of a purpose”
This crow, however, had much more to offer than its foreboding appearance would suggest.
It was a noble bird in search of a purpose - something that would allow it to give back to the forests that gave it food and shelter.
That opportunity came one day when the heavens dispatched an urgent request for a selfless hero to cultivate a mighty forest of candelabra trees.
The task before the crow was enormous.
“How will I ever be able to cultivate an entire forest from a single seed?”
Undeterred and determined to honor its word, the crow carefully buried the precious seed and patiently stood guard.
Pleased, the heavens rewarded the crow with a brilliant coat the color of the sky.
The black crow had become a blue rook.
The blue rook understood that creating something meaningful - something that makes the world a better place - can’t be rushed or forced.
It requires patience, loyalty, and resilience.
It requires collaboration and a willingness to forgo instant gratification in exchange for long-term gains that benefit everyone.
This is what guides us.
